Some of you have seen the Opal half finished on my work bench, here is the completed double Opal bliss ring, for all you October birthday people out there and the ones born under the star sign of Libra. Also sending the ever changing colours to everyone that loves Opal as much as I do. Let the sparkle light up your day, today and every day.
If a Ruby hasn't the typical Ruby colour it is called pink Sapphire. This gemstone is a pink/purple Star Sapphire, with a beautiful 6 ray star effect on the surface, it appears in this case when the light reflects of inclusions inside the gem and is called asterism from the Greek word aster meaning star. Let your star shine today.
Timeless elegance, you are always well dressed with a Ruby, also birthstone for July, this one was made coming into the first quarter of the waxing moon in August. Pigeon blood red with a bright future.
Pearls are an organic substance, very delicate and soft, they are sensitive to parfume, make up and strong cleaning agents.
On the other hand they can open your heart and release all sadness, once traded for kingdoms today they are available in all seizes and price ranges. So if you ever feel like meditating with a pearl, as well as getting in touch with your emotions today is the day to do it.
Feel the love from the bottom of your heart. Namaste.
Thanks to Flann Manning you can see hours of craftsmanship compressed in only two minutes, I wish I could make a ring that quickly every day.
This was one of my favourite Emerald pendants with a Medusa feel to it. Emerald birthstone of May. Heart opening, unfurling your true self. Enjoy the long weekend.
April is the month of Diamond, this pendant was once a ring, beautiful coloured gold with a history, molten and then reshaped into something new. The depth of memory ripples out in a new fresh light embracing Iolithe for intuition and foresight.
Just to send you some warmth on this wet and windy evening. Left: Mirror surface, just before pouring the liquid metal into the ingot mould. Right: Blow torch I use for soldering.
Also more traditionally Tourmaline and Bloodstone are used as Birthstones for March, for me it is Aquamarine, colour ranging from watery blue to a deep turquoise hence the name from Latin: aqua marina "water of the sea", totally fitting with the star sign pisces, balancing emotions and strengthening the life energy.
Happy St.Brigid's Day. Lá Fhéile Bhríde.
Even though I am used to celebrate the change of the seasons at the equinox, which is not until March for spring, I really embraced St. Brigid's Day as bringer of the new season. With the beautiful sunshine we're having today - St. Brigid is smiling on all of us and it is easy to leave Winter behind.
This little charm was made for a customer, to be given to her daughter living abroad, for protection, love and reminding her of home.
